DGIST World-class University
Rowing Festival

Congratulatory Message

I congratulate Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology for hosting the DGIST World-class University Rowing Festival.

Rowers from the world¡¯s best universities will compete on the Nakdong River to test their stamina, determination and teamwork. These are important qualities relevant for academic achievement and life success.

And no doubt the young athletes and scholars competing in this event will form new friendships in Korea as they share their passion for sport.

I am pleased that Australian teams have been competing in this festival every year since its inaugural event in 2015. As a proud alumnus of the University of Sydney, I am delighted to welcome the team from the Sydney University Boat Club, one of the oldest sporting clubs in Australia.

I congratulate DGIST President, Dr Sang Hyuk Son, and his team for hosting this wonderful international sporting event. I wish all the rowers the best of luck. May the best team win.
