『2018 DGIST 세계명문대학 조정축제』개최를 26만 달성군민과 함께 축하드리며, 문화예술과 관광의 도시, 달성을 방문해 주신 세계명문 5개 대학 참가자 여러분을 뜨겁게 환영합니다. 이번 축제 준비를 위해 물심양면으로 수고해주신 DGIST 손상혁 총장님을 비롯한 대회 관계자 여러분께도 따뜻한 격려와 감사의 인사를 전합니다.

올해로 네 번째를 맞이하는 DGIST 세계명문대학 조정축제는 이제 명실상부 조정을 아끼고 사랑하는 세계 젊은이들을 하나로 만드는 화합의 장이 되고 있습니다. 이런 값진 성과를 이루기 위해 많은 분들의 노력이 있었습니다. 하지만 무엇보다 세계명문대학 조정축제를 세계적 수준에 올려놓은 가장 큰 원동력은 바로 학생 여러분의 열정이었습니다. 조정축제의 주인공인 바로 대학생 여러분인 것입니다.

지난 대회의 융합팀 경기에서의 보여준 열정적인 모습은 아직 감동으로 우리의 가슴 속 깊이 남아 있습니다. 국적, 성별 심지어 언어까지 다르지만, 모두 하나 되어 마지막까지 노를 저어가는 모습은 도전과 배려, 그리고 협력 그 자체였습니다. 여러분이 흘린 땀과 열정은 승패를 떠나 그 자체가 소중한 것입니다.

글로벌 리더로서 끊임없는 성장을 거듭해가는 여러분이 무척 자랑스럽습니다. 식지 않는 뜨거운 열정을 노에 담아 꿈을 향해 힘차게 도전하십시오. 대구의 미래, 달성은 여러분의 도전정신을 응원합니다.

짧은 일정이지만 머무는 동안 달성의 매력을 마음껏 느끼시고, 이번 축제가 여러분의 소중한 우정과 추억을 함께 나누는 자리가 되기를 기원합니다. 각국의 선수단 여러분을 거듭 환영하며, 여러분 모두의 선전과 건승을 기원합니다.

University students from all over the world! I am very glad to meet you. I would like to congratulate the 2018 DGIST World-class University Rowing Festival with 260,000 Dalseong County residents and welcome the participants of the five world class universities who visited Dalseong, the city of culture, arts and tourism.

I also would like to express my warm encouragement and gratitude to everyone involved in the event, including DGIST President Sang-Hyuk Son who made a lot of efforts both physically and mentally to prepare for this festival.

The DGIST World-class University Rowing Festival, which celebrates its fourth anniversary this year, is now a venue for harmony to unite young people around the world who love and cherish rowing. There have been a lot of efforts to achieve such a valuable achievement. Most of all, it was the enthusiasm of students that made the World-class University Rowing Festival a world-class festival. The main characters of the rowing festival are university students.

The enthusiasm shown at the United Team game of the last competition is still deep in our hearts. Nationality, gender, and language are different, but everyone’s rowing based on unity, challenge, consideration and cooperation was similar. Your sweat and enthusiasm are precious themselves, apart from victory and defeat.

I am very proud of you who continue to grow as a global leader. Put your passion in rowing, and challenge yourself towards your dreams vigorously. The future of Daegu, Dalseong supports your spirit.

Although it is a short schedule, I hope that you will fully feel the charm of Dalseong during your stay and that this festival will be a place to share your precious friendships and memories. Again, I would like to welcome all the players from all over the world and pray for your good performance and good health.
